mac webcams - the lay of the land Posted on June 27th
chris pirillo reviews the state of affairs for mac webcam alternatives to the widely loved but unavailable isight camera made by apple.
well as someone who has struggled with this, i’ll tell you i’ve come to a few realizations. first, just because it _works_ doesn’t mean it works well enough. i need a decent frame rate as i use american sign language and some cameras, while they _do_ work on my macbook, offer only choppy video. this makes using ASL unpleasant and interpreting it impossible. here’s a sample video which shows how ASL even when signing very slowly is pretty much unusable.
the camera that i am using now is the one that apple _currently_ sells at their store. the logitech quickcam vision mp for mac. it’s not a new camera and not the sharpest of all but it provides the best frame-rate from what i’ve found.
but hold the presses! logitech just announced that their vision pro 9000 camera will come out with a mac compatible version in mid-july (see below).
this camera offers a very sharp picture, performs well in low-light conditions, and if it works as advertised will offer good frame rates which the original pro 9000 didn’t do on my macbook running osX 10.5.3.
many folks consider the pro 9000 camera to be the best one on the market picture wise.
if the logitech pro 9000 works as i expect it to, it’d be well worth considering adding it to your mac desktop.

In the past with myPC windows 98 I had one too but it doesn' t work with XP . So ....
But this can be so useful in any case , for instance to " talk " to a deaf as you do .
In friendship
