Ithaca NY. How do I describe this place? One of those places that you've always heard about but never have been. Then when you finally go, you say to yourself "Why did I wait so long?!" A great city with great food, energy, art, music and mountains.
Definitely will go back and explore further. Even in the cold of winter, there was warmth and beauty to be had for tourists like us. We stayed at lovely B&B called the Inn on Columbia. From there we could walk to many restaurants and even to the theatre to capture the awesome Avett Brothers. A great show, a great weekend, and lots of great pictures.
Here's a slideshow of my pictures. If you don't see a slideshow, just click here. Hope you enjoy as much as we did.
Had such a good time at the show last night: Trey Anastasio at Terminal 5 in NYC. His set was a great mix of world music, big band, and everything else too. What a versatile musician he's become.
Here's a little iphone video clip and some shots of the show. The energy was palpable and very positive. You can tell his fans are loyal and LOVE SEEING HIM PLAY. I had a great time and highly recommend seeing his band if you get the chance.
If you follow me at all, you'll probably notice I have made a routine of morning mandolin practice. I find that attempting to practice after work results in poor attention and results. Switching over to morning coffee and mandolin practice has certainly resulted in greater consistency. Here's a look see...
How did I just learn about http://noteflight.com ? This site allows you to enter music and it will render sheet music that can be played online. There's a facility to search for other peoples scores and save them to your collection. What a great way to learn new music and improve your sight reading skills. Nicely done!
