In case you've not heard, google released buzz this week. Buzz is integrated into gmail and is meant to provide a quick and easy way to share pictures, links, and chat with people. When enabled on your account it sits unobtrusively underneath your inbox.
Why should you use Buzz?
If you think twitter is too noisy and confusing...
If you think Facebook is a waste of time with vampires, farms and mafia mishegas...
Then you might like Google Buzz. It's stripped down compared to Facebook but it is more user friendly out of the box than twitter.
All you need is a gmail account. If you don't have one then you should really consider it. Personally, I think gmail has the best spam filtering out there. I hear horror stories of people having dozens and dozens of spam emails in their inboxes. I never see this on gmail.
If you decide to give google buzz a try, be sure to read these basics to ensure your experience starts out on the right foot. Five Tips to Thrive on Google Buzz:

Last week, Twitter released a feature that has changed how the service works for everyone. The feature is called 'twitter lists'. Twitter lists are curated lists of twitter users created by other twitter users. The lists can be private or public.
Public twitter lists is what I'll be referring to. Public lists enable you to 'follow' everyone on the list without really subscribing.
When you 'follow' the list, it shows up on your twitter page it doesn't clog up your timeline. You only see the list members twitter messages when you click on that list.
